Health Professionals
Health
Professionals often request the assistance of an Accredited Exercise
Physiologist to provide exercise and lifestyle interventions for patients
that have
complex of multiple medical or musculoskeletal requirements
or the presence of co-morbidities with a risk of an acute event.
Initial
Assessment
All patients
undergo a comprehensive musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and behavioural
change assessment.
Testing protocols
are chosen and tailored to suit individuals' conditions, required outcomes
and limitations.
Monitoring During
Exercise
Patients are
monitored closely during exercise and recovery, objective measures include;
Blood Pressure
Heart Rate
ECG ( single channel - 30sec)
Oxygen Saturation and
Pulmonary Function.
Subjective self
perceived measures of exertion, breathlessness and pain are also recorded
and correlated to objective measures.
